Fletcher Building Limited is one of the largest listed companies in New Zealand, with a market capitalisation of over NZ$4.8 billion. The company was split from Fletcher Challenge in 2001, formerly New Zealand's largest business and multinational.
With 18,800 employees globally and over 50 businesses operating under the Fletcher Building banner, the company is Australasia's largest building materials supplier. Mark Adamson has been the chief executive since 1 October 2012. Jonathan Ling was the chief executive from September 2006 to September 2012.
Divisions
The company operates in six divisions: Heavy Building Products, Light Building Products, Laminates & Panels, New Zealand Distribution, Distribution Australia and Construction. [1]
Heavy Building Products
The Heavy Building Products division consists of cement production, concrete, aggregate, pipeline, quarry products and long steel businesses. This includes Firth Concrete and Humes Pipelines, Golden Bay Cement, Winstone Aggregates, Rocla Pipelines, Rocla Quarries and Iplex.
Light Building products
Businesses in the Light Building Products division manufacture building materials, such as GIB plasterboard, Pink Batts insulation, aluminium windows, doors and sinkware and steel roof tiles. Many of these products are sold through Fletcher's New Zealand retail division, PlaceMakers. The chief executive of the Light Building Products division is Francisco Irazusta.
Laminates and panels
The Laminates and Panels division includes the Formica business, acquired in May 2007,[2] and the Laminex Group. The chief executive of the division is Paul Zuckerman.
New Zealand Distribution
New Zealand Distribution consists of general building, plumbing and steel distribution businesses in New Zealand. Its operations include Building Supplies Distributors: PlaceMakers, Mico Plumbing and Bathrooms and Forman Distribution, as well as its Steel Distribution Network: Fletcher Easysteel, Fletcher Reinforcing and Pacific Coil Coaters.
Distribution Australia
Distribution's Australia operations include Tradelink Plumbing Centres, a network of more than 200 plumbing trade and retail stores.
Construction
The Construction Division is made up of Fletcher Construction and Fletcher Residential. Fletcher Construction operates in New Zealand and South Pacific Islands. The chief executive of the construction division is Graham Darlow.
