Jim Davis won the Democratic primary on September 5 with 48% of the vote. Davis was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives representing Florida's 11th congressional district, and was once the majority leader of the Florida House of Representatives. On September 13, Davis selected former State Senator & 2002 Gubernatorial candidate Daryl Jones of Miami as his running mate.
