Fluidware

Fluidware is a Canada based software company specializing in survey tools and software.[1] It was founded in 2008 and was formerly known as Chide.it.[2] The company has two flagship products FluidSurveys and FluidReview that provides free, customizable surveys as well as a suite of paid back end programs that include data analysis, sample selection, bias elimination, and data representation tools.[3] The company has grown exponentially since 2010 and their tools are used by over 100,000 customers, including Disney, Coca-Cola, BMW, USA Today, and Amnesty International.[4][5] It was acquired by American giant web survey company SurveyMonkey in August 2014.[6]

History

Fluidware began its operation under the name Chide.it, founded by co-CEOs Eli Fathi and Aydin Mirzaee, and CTO Amin Mirzaee.[7] The start-up company was first envisioned as an ‘anti-social network’, but met limited success.[8] In 2008, Chide.it switched from the social media field to focus on software products for businesses, organizations and educational institutions (OCE).

It built two products, called FluidSurveys and FluidReview (earlier known as ReviewRoom), that provided early success to the company.[9][10] These products helped the company to grow in size and revenue; and by 2012, the company grew its revenue and remained bootstrapped. Fluidware currently has two locations, one in Ottawa, Canada and another in Bridgewater, New Jersey. In February 2013, Chide.it rebranded itself as Fluidware and also renamed its flagship product ReviewRoom as FluidReview.[11] According to the company blog, the name Fluidware better represents the unity between the teams that built and continue to improve upon both FluidSurveys and FluidReview.[12]
