Banca del Monte e Cassa di Risparmio Faenza was an Italian regional bank and charity organization.

Bank

Due to 1990s Italian banking reform, the bank became a S.p.A. as well as a bank foundation (Fondazione Banca del Monte e Cassa di Risparmio Faenza, or Fondazione Monte Faenza in short), which the banking sector was merged with Cassa di Risparmio e Banca del Monte Lugo to form Banca di Romagna in 1996. In 1992, Casse Emiliano Romagnole (and its subsidiary) also acquired a minority interests in the bank.

Bank Foundation

After the formation of Banca di Romagna, soon later the bank formed another banking group with Cassa di Risparmio di Cesena (CR Cesena).[3] Due to Banca di Romagna was absorbed into CR Cesena in 2013, the bank foundation now owned the shares of CR Cesena instead.

The foundation, as of 31 December 2014, owned 6.462% shares of Cassa di Risparmio di Cesena, as well as 0.010% of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.[4]
