The company provides multifamily marketing and media products, including print, social, online, mobile and video, all on an extensive distribution network.
History
For Rent Media Solutions began as For Rent Magazine in Seattle, Washington in 1982,[2] while former parent company, Trader Publishing, was established in 1991. In 1994, Southwest Apartment Guide was acquired, becoming the brand’s second publication. Around the time of the ‘dot com’ bubble, ForRent.com, the company’s Internet listing service, launched in 1997. In 2000, Trader Publishing acquired United Advertising Publications, Inc. Dominion Enterprises was formed in 2006, following a division of assets of Trader Publishing.[3] From this division, For Rent Media Solutions was formed as a subsidiary of Dominion Enterprises.

- 2012 - For Rent Media Solutions celebrates 30 years, launches ForRentUniversity.com[10] and introduces FRMobile.
- 2013 - For Rent Media Solutions introduces YouTube & Facebook Apartment Search Apps,[11] and ForRent.com receives Multi-Housing News’ Technology Choice Awards in the Mobile App and Internet Listing Service categories.[12]
- 2014 - For Rent Media Solutions launches AFTER55.com, a senior housing resource.[13]
Consumer products
- ForRent.com, an apartment search website, is the core consumer product and includes advanced search filters, including amenities, price, property type and location.[14]
- Through iOS and Android mobile devices, ForRent.com’s Apartment Search App offer consumers the ability to search for listings on the go, and filter results based on features such as commute time or the pet-friendly search option.[15]
