Forward Operating Base Arian

Forward Operating Base Arian was originally Combat Post Arian, but in 2011 rapidly expanded to Forward Operating Base (FOB) size. It is in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan.[1]

The FOB was given its name by Polish troops. Spelling variations exist and one of those variations (Aryan) caused a minor flap when some commentators in the United States assumed the COP was somehow named after the Aryan race.

FOB Arian is a primitive location with few comforts.
