Foursome is an American web television series, starring Jenn McAllister, better known by her online alias "JennXPenn". The series is produced by AwesomenessTV, and premiered on March 30th, 2016 exclusively for YouTube Red, YouTube's subscription service.
It features a girl named Andie, played by Jenn McAllister and her bestfriends in High School. Andie desperately wants a boyfriend, but it's not that easy when her older brother won't let her near a single boy.
6 episodes were produced and filmed in Los Angeles, California during September 2015.
Plot
Andie is undateable– thanks to her older brother Alec, the most popular guy in high school, who makes sure no guy comes near her. Fortunately, Andie has her three best friends to help her shake the little sister stigma: Dakota, the gay best friend who is more than confident in his own sexuality; Imogen the innocent, fresh-out-of-home-school wallflower; and Courtney, Alec’s girlfriend and last year’s homecoming queen, who can’t let go of her high school days. These four very different personalities help each other navigate the hormone-induced, angst-filled sea of high school.
Production
Development
In October 2015, YouTube announced YouTube Red, its paid subscription ad service that would offer subscribers an ad-free experience, which would also allow users to download videos for offline viewing.[1] In addition, the service would be launching original content exclusive to YouTube Red subscribers in 2016.[2] Foursome was not announced, the series was finally announced on February 10, 2016 . Foursome was announced with the untitled Gigi Gorgeous Series.[3]
After the series was announced, Jenn McAllister spoke about her experience shooting the series in a YouTube Video.
