It was built about 1830, and is a two-story frame dwelling with an 11-foot deep porch across the front façade. The house is attached by breezeways to two dependencies, a kitchen and a housekeepers quarters. It was built for and housed the newly founded Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, which started in 1830. This house was originally built as a faculty dormitory and classroom space.
