Frédérik Gauthier (born April 26, 1995) is a Canadian ice hockey player. He is currently playing with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the Maple Leafs in the 1st round (21st overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Gauthier is a top prospect who was ranked number eight on the NHL Central Scouting Bureau's final ranking of North American skaters.[1] He fulfilled the expectation to be a first round selection at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.[2][3] He was born in Laval, Quebec, but grew up in Mascouche, Quebec, both suburbs of Montreal.
