Fran Ganguzza (Born Francine Ganguzza on July 28, 1959) is the Vice-President, Writer, and Co-Producer of Starline Films, an independent film production and distribution company. Her works include: Harry...a Communication Breakdown and 4CHOSEN: The Documentary.[1]

Early life

Fran was raised in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, a small town in Northern New Jersey. She attended Pascack Hills High School and later pursued a Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication at Philadelphia College of Art.[2]

After college, Fran launched an advertising and marketing company, FS Designs, creating advertising and promotional campaigns for clients including The Marque Hotel, Charter Peachford Hospital, Hollywood NYC, BBR Associates, Voices (screenplay promotion), and The NY Office of Film, TV and Broadcasting.

Since joining Starline Films in 2005,[3] Fran has co-produced the award winning documentary, 4CHOSEN: The Documentary and Harry...A Communication Breakdown, which she also co-wrote/co-directed with Jon Doscher.[4]

In 2006, Fran became a partner at Starline Films[5] with Jon Doscher and has played a key role in the writing, development and packaging of upcoming feature films, Old Stoneface, Anyone’s Son, 4CHOSEN, and Legends of October.

Career

Fran Ganguzza began working with Jon Doscher and Starline Films in 2010. She worked on a collaboration with Jim Sheridan, six-time Academy Award-nominated filmmaker for writing, producing and directing (My Left Foot, In the Name of the Father, and Brothers). Currently, Jon Doscher and Jim Sheridan are in the process of packaging a feature film production deal.

The collaboration between Jon Doscher, Fran Ganguzza and Jim Sheridan resulted in an agreement to produce the full-length feature film Old Stoneface, which depicts the illustrious and controversial career of Lester Piggott, the greatest jockey in England's history and perhaps the best jockey of all time.

Fran will be co-producer on The Westies, a film about a predominantly Irish-American organized crime association operating from the Hell's Kitchen area of Manhattan's West Side in New York City. Jim Sheridan is currently completing the Old Stoneface screenplay and its funding has been partially secured. Casting for Old Stoneface is potentially scheduled for Fall 2012.

Philanthropic/Charitable Projects

Blauvelt Mansion Project

Jon Doscher and Starline Films are now producing a short film loosely based on the history of the Atwood-Blauvelt mansion, in Oradell, New Jersey. The Blauvelt Mansion, as it is commonly known, was built between 1896 and 1897 and is considered a very good example of shingle style architecture in Bergen County, New Jersey. The short film is dedicated to philanthropic endeavors and is aligned with the Blauvelt-Demarest Foundation, the official charitable organization for the Bluefield movie project. This is the organization which operates the Hiram Blauvelt Museum, also located on the same property of the Blauvelt Mansion.

Jon is directing this film and hopes to bring awareness to the plight of the Blauvelt Mansion, and ultimately secure the mansion a nomination to the State and National Registers of Historic Places, as its future is uncertain.
