Francisc Vaştag (Romanian pronunciation: [ˈfrant͡ʃisk ˈvaʃtaɡ]; born November 26, 1969 in Reșița, Caraş-Severin) was the first Romanian boxer to win the supreme belt in his category. His victory greatly stimulated boxing in Romania. The champion boxer Adrian Diaconu said that he considers Vaştag to be a brother and mentor.
Trivia
His son, Andrei Vaștag, is a Liga I football player playing for FC Dinamo București.
