Frank Shostak
Frank Shostak is an economist. He is an adjunct scholar of the Mises Institute and a frequent contributor to Mises.org. His consulting firm, Applied Austrian School Economics, provides in-depth assessments and reports of financial markets and global economies.[1]
Early Years
Frank Shostak is a former professor of economics and a leading Austrian economist in Australia. He has been involved with financial markets since 1966. Since 1986 he is employed as the chief economist of Ord Minnett Jardine Fleming Futures, one of the largest Australian brokerage firms. He is an adjunct scholar of the Ludwig von Mises Institute and a member of the board of editors of the Quarterly Journal Of Austrian Economics. He is highly regarded for his skills to convert complex economic issues into plain English. He has published In The Wall Street Journal and in academic journals in Europe and the US.[2]
Frank Shostak is chief economist at Ord Minnett Jardine Fleming, Sydney, Australia, one of the largest brokerage houses in that country, and serves on the editorial board of The Quarterly Journal of Austrian Economics. He received his bachelor's degree from Hebrew University, master's degree from Witwatersrand University and PhD from Rands Afrikaanse University, and has taught at the University of Pretoria and the Graduate Business School at Witwatersrand University. He is a frequent contributor to The Wall Street Journal Asia, among many other popular and scholarly venues.
