Frans Mendur (1913 1971) was an Indonesian photographer who took the iconic photographs of the declaration of Indonesian independence on 17 August 1945. In 1946, he established the Indonesian Press Photo Service (IPPHOS) with his brother, Alex Mendur, Oscar Ganda, Alex Mamusung, Frans Umbas, and Justus Umbas.
