Franz Graf von Bellegarde[a] (28 July 1912 – 19 December 1941) was a highly decorated Hauptmann in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Franz Graf von Bellegarde was wounded during the Battle of Moscow and died on 19 December 1941 in a field hospital in Armenskaja, Russia.
