Fred Myrow

Fredric Myrow (July 16, 1939 - January 14, 1999) was an American composer,[1] He is known for composing the soundtracks for Phantasm, Soylent Green[2][3] and Scarecrow.

Early life

Myrow was the son of Josef Myrow[4] and grandson of Irving Mills.

Career

Myrow was a friend of Jim Morrison[5] and provided the music for Morrison's experimental film HWY: An American Pastoral. [6]

Myrow co-wrote the score for the film Phantasm in 1979.[7] In 2015, the sound track was re-released on vinyl.[8][9]

Myrow was also a pianist, and performed live concerts of his compositions.[10]
