Fridtjov Søiland Birkeli

Fridtjov Søiland Birkeli (26 May 1906 17 September 1983) was a Norwegian Lutheran missionary, writer, magazine editor and bishop. He was born in Madagascar. He worked as a missionary to Madagascar from 1933 to 1944. He edited the periodical Norsk Misjonstidende from 1948 to 1954. He served as Bishop of the Diocese of Stavanger from 1960 to 1968, and Bishop of the Diocese of Oslo from 1968 to 1973.[1][2]
