History

Origins

In 1998, the South African technology firm iXchange, led by Dana Buys, first purchased Bendata the maker of the HEAT help desk package. iXchange then later acquired GoldMine Software Corp. In early 2000, an ecommerce ASP company named Maestro Commerce was acquired by GoldMine. Ultimately iXchange renamed itself FrontRange Limited in 2000 and all three companies were rolled into a newly formed U.S. based corporation called FrontRange Solutions which was wholly owned by FrontRange Limited.

On November 4, 2005, Francisco Partners announced their intention to acquire all outstanding shares of FrontRange Solutions for nearly US$200 million.[3] On December 23, 2005 Francisco Partners completed the acquisition through the purchase of all outstanding shares.

In February 2012, FrontRange Solutions appointed Jon Temple as its CEO.[4]

In 2015 FrontRange Solutions was purchased by Clearlake Capital Group and merged with Lumension Security Inc to form HEAT Software Inc.

Acquisitions

On March 12, 2007 FrontRange Solutions acquired the Germany-based software company enteo for an undisclosed sum.[5]

On April 28, 2008, FrontRange Solutions acquired the UK-based software company Centennial Software for an undisclosed sum.[6]
