Funk paulista, also referred to as Funk ostentação (from Portuguese: Funk ostentation), is a Brazilian music style, created in 2008, in São Paulo.[1] The central themes addressed in the songs refer to conspicuous consumption, where much of the representatives sing about cars, motorcycles, drink and women, extolling the ambition to leave the slum and win goals.[2][3]
