G Data Software is a collection of anti-malware solutions by G Data Software, Inc. It was founded in Bochum, Germany in 1985 with the North American subsidiary currently located in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.[1] They are known for being the creators of the worlds first antivirus software. G Data is able to achieve higher detection rates than other products through the use of multiple scanning engines, one developed in-house and the other is the BitDefender engine. G Data provides several security products that are targeted at Home and Business markets.

G Data Software competes in the antivirus industry against Avira, ESET, F-Secure, Kaspersky, McAfee, Panda Security, Sophos, and Symantec among others.
