Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency
The Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (Public Organization) (Thai: สำนัà¸à¸‡à¸²à¸™à¸žà¸±à¸’นาเทคโนโลยีà¸à¸§à¸à¸²à¸¨à¹à¸¥à¸°à¸ ูมิสารสนเทศ (à¸à¸‡à¸„์à¸à¸²à¸£à¸¡à¸«à¸²à¸Šà¸™)) or, in brief, GISTDA (Thai: สทà¸à¸ .), is a Thai space research organisation. It is responsible for remote sensing and technology development satellites.
It is led by Thailand's Minister of Science and Technology, Wutthipong Chaisaeng,[1] Executive Chairman Vichit Satharanond,[1] and director Thongchai Charuppat.[2]
It has its offices in Bangkok.
THEOS
GISTDA owns the THEOS satellite, which was launched by a Dnepr rocket from the Dombarovskiy Cosmodrome in Russia on 1 October 2008.[3]
