GTS Technologies is a paint finishing and mechanical handling systems company, registered in Wolverhampton, England. It was one of the first surface finishing businesses to enter the Russian automotive paint finishing market. As an international business, it has worked for manufacturers including Aston Martin, BMW, Ford and Toyota. It is one of only two remaining British paint finishing specialists in the high end automotive sector.

Origins

GTS Technologies began trading in Wolverhampton, England. It emerged just as the industry world leader Haden Drysys International ceased to trade,[1] resulting in a large gap in both the British and world paint finishing market. Also based in the Midlands, GTS Technologies was founded by previous members of Haden Drysys management and took on part of the Haden Drysys engineering team.

It has acquired a licence to use Haden Drysys Intellectual Property, allowing this heritage to remain in Britain. The licence allows it to use all Haden Drysys equipment. Entries in this range include the Hydrospin spray booths, AirRadiant ovens and Hydropac sludge removal systems.

Growth

GTS Technologies moved into the Russian paint finishing market in 2005. In response to the automotive industry crisis of 2008–2009 the demand for environmental work in the automotive industry has risen sharply. Automotive manufacturers are seeking to improve their efficiency and reduce their carbon footprints. GTS has become one of the new suppliers to this emerging market, changing its research and development focus towards energy efficiency. Emergency funding in America and Europe has been made available to companies able to demonstrate their commitment to green technology.[2] Under European rules, this funding can only be used to lower emissions during vehicle production and in consumer use.[3]

GTS Technologies has offices in the United Kingdom, Germany, Iran, Qatar, Russia and the United Arab Emirates.

Partnerships

In 2007, GTS Technologies formed a partnership with Geico spa the largest paint finishing supplier in Italy, another company with strong ties to Haden Drysys International.
