Gaius Julius Quadratus Bassus
Gaius Julius Quadratus Bassus (70–117), a Romanized Galatian who was born in Pergamon, was the son of Gaius Julius Bassus, Proconsul in Bithynia in 98. He served as a Legate at Judaea between 102/103 and 104/105. He was appointed Consul of Rome in 105 and afterwards served as Proconsul of Asia in 105. He was serving as Legatus Augusti pro praetore (governor) in the province of Dacia when he died in the Dacian revolt in 117.[1]
