Galala Mountain

Galala Mountain or Galalah Mountain is a mountain located in Suez, Arab Republic of Egypt. To reach to the marble quarries in the center of «Mountain Galala» your trip begins once you leave the main Cairo-Suez road. Deep in the desert for a distance of 40 kilometers, take at least two hours of driving on the sand hills and many curves interrelated and very rugged. To prevent people losing their way in this desert as it is what frequently happens, there are a number of signs, these signs are old tires which are put here by drivers to guide them along the road.

The more difficult to the journey is the ascent to the top of the mountain through the narrow mountain passages which is descending and twisting all the way long. It seems to be impossible to reach the top of the mountain. But after 45 minutes where nearly 80 meters above sea level you're finally reached the location of quarries in Galala mountain.

The extracted marble from these quarries was named of the name of this mountain "Galala Marble". Its colours are creamy and creamy white as its variations differ according to the quarry stones.
