Gamarjobat
Gamarjobat (Japanese: が〜まるちょば) are an award-winning comedy performance group comprising two Japanese comedians, Ketch!—who sports a red mohawk—and HIRO-PON—with a yellow mohawk.[1] The duo perform a variety of sketches, including mimes and physical comedy. Ketch (Keisuke Uchida)aged 41–42 was born at Shizoka near Mt. Fuji and HIRO-PON (Hiroshi Yoshimi)aged 45–46 born at a suburb near Tokyo went to schooling at the Tokyo Mime Theatre in Shinibu and the Tokyo Mime Institute in Maniki
They have found success performing in the United Kingdom, amongst other countries, winning awards at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.[2]
They have also appeared on television in the UK on such programmes as Blue Peter, and children's talent show The Slammer, in which they were voted by the audience as the winning act in the first episode of the second series. In February 2009 the BBC broadcast a TV pilot Ketch & HIRO-PON Get It On.[1] In 2007 at Brighton Festival Fringe, they mentioned that "Gamarjobat" (გამარჯობა) means hello in Georgian.
In February 2011, they appeared on the Friday night ITV show 'Comedy Rocks with Jason Manford'.
