Gard (Slavic toponymy)
Gard or Gord (archaeology). A Slavic term for "town", "city" or "castle." It's of Pomeranian origin and is in use in contemporary Kashubian language. It survived in such Pomeranian geographical names as:
- Stargard Szczeciński in West Pomerania
- Starogard Gdański in East Pomerania
- Nowogard in West Pomerania
