Gary Connell (birth registered January→March 1959 (age 5657)[1]) birth registered in Pontefract, is a professional rugby league footballer of the 1970s and '80s, playing at club level for Castleford, as a prop, or second-row, i.e. number 8 or 10, or, 11 or 12, during the era of contested scrums.[2][3]

Gary Connell played Left-prop, i.e. number 8, in Castleford's 2-13 defeat by Hull in the 1983 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1983–84 season at Elland Road, Leeds, on Saturday 15 October 1983.
