Critical response
John Koski of the Daily Mail called Gastrogeek "Fun and charming, but don't be deceived into thinking that the solutions which follow are similarly fluffy. The recipes are inventive, intriguing and, in many cases, demand care and attention."[2] Metro said, "the best way to use this book: dive in, grab some brilliant ideas and run –ideally before the boss arrives for dinner." Tom Parker Bowles called Sabur-Cross "The respectable face of food writing."[1]
