Gdańsk Politechnika is an SKM stop in Gdańsk, Poland. It is the third stop of this urban train line.
Its name is derived from Gdańsk University of Technology (pl: Politechnika Gdańska) which lays nearby. Former name of this stop is Gdańsk Nowa Szkocja (en.: Gdańsk New Scotland).
Gdańsk Politechnika is connected with Gdańsk Nowe Szkoty stop, which serviced Gdańsk - Nowy Port route - now not used for passenger traffic after cancelling SKM traffic on this route in July 2005.
General information
Access to the platform is made through underway passage from both sides of the city, and the ticket office is located on the west side of the platform, open from 6 a.m. till 9 p.m. on weekdays, from 6 a.m. till 8 p.m. on Saturdays and from 7 a.m. till 8 p.m. on Sundays. The platform is roofed and the station in mainly used by students of Gdańsk University of Technology. Formerly it was often used as passage station on a route from Gdynia direction to Nowy Port. The stop gives also access to some important places in the city, like nearby Medical University of Gdańsk, Lechia Gdańsk stadium in Traugutta str., Multikino multiplex cinema and Gdańsk Opera.
