Gediminas Orelik (Lithuanian: Gediminas Orelikas) (born 14 May 1990 in Šiauliai) is a professional Lithuanian basketball player for Lietuvos Rytas of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). He plays primarily at the small forward position, but can also play power forward if needed.

Professional career

At the conclusion of the 201213 LKL season, Orelik won the Season MVP award after averaging 17.1 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game and 21.2 efficiency points per game.[1] On 17 May 2013, it was announced that Orelik signed with Lietuvos Rytas.[2]

International career

Orelik was a part of the Lithuanian Under-16, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-20 junior national teams. In 2009, he played alongside Donatas Motiejūnas and led Lithuania to a 9th place at the Under-19 World Championship. In 2011, he won a bronze medal representing Lithuania at the 2011 Summer Universiade. In 2015 Orelik was included into the Lithuania men's national basketball team head coach Jonas Kazlauskas extended candidates list.[3] Though, he was not invited into the training camp later on.[4]

Personal life

Orelik is of Belarusian or Polish descent.[5]
