Gender inequality in South Korea
Sexism in South Korea refers to sexism expressed in South Korean society and culture.
Jang Ja-yeon and Jeong Da-bin affairs
In 2009, Jang Ja-yeon, a popular actress in the Boys Over Flowers TV series, committed suicide, but not before leaving a 7-page note listing at least 31 names of media executives, CEOs, and directors that she claimed she was forced into having sex with. South Korean police have suppressed the full list, and Jang Ja-yeon's funeral was attended by over a quarter million fans.[1]
