Gener8tor

Gener8tor is an American startup accelerator, formed in 2012 by Dan Armbrust, Troy Vosseller, Joe Kirgues, Daniel Bader, Joel Abraham, and Jon Eckhardt.[1] It operates in both Madison and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Gener8tor recruits, mentors, and trains entrepreneurs that lead high-tech business ventures.[2] As of 2014, it was in the top 30 out of 220 accelerators in the world in terms of the average dollar amount that portfolio companies have raised.[2]

In March 2014, the Seed Accelerator Rankings Project placed Gener8tor in the top 20 of accelerator programs out of 150 participants whose programs were reviewed.[3]

History

Gener8tor's first fund was backed by Dan Armbrust, founder of Granite Microsystems, a Mequon, Wisconsin equipment manufacturer, and Dan Bader, president and CEO of Bader Philanthropies.

Governance

"...No board seats, no preferred shares, no liquidation preferences"[4]

Program

Gener8tor provides a 12-week "seed" mentorship for companies chosen to participate, and then moves promising businesses into a longer, 12-month to 30-month accelerator program.[1]

Gener8tor Fund II

CSA Partners Venture Management, a venture capital fund backed by Chris Abele, Milwaukee County Executive, and former president and CEO of the Argosy Foundation, Wisconsin Investment Partners, and other individual investors contributed 2.1 million dollars to "Gener8tor Fund II".
