History

Mission

Genesis Capital was founded in 2003 by Jonathan D. Goldman[5] with a mission to best serve clients by focusing on client need rather than size. Since its establishment, the firm has worked with clients in excess of $30 billion of enterprise value to under $50 million of enterprise value and has completed transactions ranging from over $1 billion to under $25 million.

Jonathan Goldman

Prior to founding Genesis Capital, Mr. Goldman was a Managing Director of Robertson Stephens, and a member of that firm's Management Committee. At Robertson Stephens, Jonathan's primary responsibilities included managing the firm's global investment banking activities for the Software Group, Electronic Manufacturing Products and Services Group and Energy Technologies Group. He also served on the firm's Fairness Opinion Review Committee and managed the Atlanta office and activities in the Sunbelt Region of the United States. Prior to joining Robertson Stephens, Mr. Goldman was a Managing Director with the Robinson-Humphrey Company which was later acquired by SunTrust (NYSE: STI), where he headed the Healthcare Group. From 1987 to 1995, Jonathan was in the investment banking group of Credit Suisse First Boston.[6]

Industry Coverage

Genesis Capital concentrates on growth industries where it has specific experience and can exploit its network of corporate, institutional, private equity, hedge fund and family office investors. The firm's broad industry expertise supposedly gives it a unique perspective over many transaction types, which they claim enables it to focus solely on advising its clients in a conflict free environment.[7]
