Genesis Mining Ltd. is a company based in Hong Kong that sells bitcoin and other cryptocurrency mining contracts and is currently one of the largest mining companies in the world with over 100,000 customers. The company is active in the Bitcoin community and extends across the world. ^[1][2]

History

Genesis Mining was launched in February 2014.^[3]

Genesis Mining was covered by Der Spiegel, one of the largest newsmagazines in Europe^[4]

Services

Their services allow customers to purchase mining contracts, which allow them to mine Bitcoin and altcoin through a cloud-based computer network. Their mining farms are based in Iceland, Canada, and Bosnia. In March 2016 they launched Logos Fund which was reported by Reuters to be the world's first Bitcoin Mining Fund. ^{[5][6] [7][8] [9][10] [11]}

Activism

In November 2015, they launched a nationwide awareness campaign in San Francisco, Chicago, Miami and LA which highlighted the benefits of using Bitcoin.^[12][13] In January 2016 they launched a billboard at the Bitcoin Miami conference which mocked JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon about his comment “Silicon Valley is Coming to Eat Your Lunch”. ^[14][15]
