Geoff Wilson (businessman)

Geoff Wilson (born November 26, 1978) is an American entrepreneur, speaker and author. He founded 352 Inc.(formerly 352 Media Group) in 1997 along with Peter VanRysdam.[1] Wilson serves as the company's President and CEO.

Early life and education

Born in Sarasota, Florida, he attended Pine View High School and the University of Florida, where he received a bachelors in telecommunications.

Career

In July 2006, Wilson was named one of America’s Top 30 Young Entrepreneurs by Inc. (magazine).[2] That same year he was selected as one of Gainesville Magazine's Top 40 Under 40[3] alongside Urban Meyer, Billy Donovan and Ryan Lochte, among others. Wilson won the 2007 University of Florida Clark Butler Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year Award[4] and was nominated for the 2012 Spirit of Gainesville Award for Entrepreneurship.[5]

Wilson speaks at several conferences and events each year. In 2009, Wilson spoke at the Jacksonville IT Expo. In 2013, Wilson spoke at rethink: Success by FreshSpark,[6][7] where he talked about 352 Inc.(formerly 352 Media Group)'s change from the Waterfall model to Agile software development. He was also selected to be a speaker at Digital Atlanta 2013.[8] Wilson has also been featured on several television and radio shows.[9]

Wilson teaches entrepreneurship[10][11] and internet business strategy[12] at the University of Florida and other schools. He also volunteers to mentor entrepreneurs through organizations such as Founder Institute.[13]
