Geophis is a genus of colubrid snakes that belong to the Xenodontinae subfamily and are typically referred to as Latin American earth snakes (Spanish: culebra minera or culebra minadora). The genus consists of over forty distinct species.[1]

Nota bene: A binomial authority in parentheses indicates that the species was originally described in a genus other than Geophis.
