George Elliott Howard

George Elliott Howard, Ph.D. (18491928) was an American educator and author, born at Saratoga, New York.

He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1876, studied in Europe at the universities of Munich and Paris (1876–1878), and was professor of history in the University of Nebraska from 1879 to 1891, and professor at Stanford from 1891 to 1901.

Professor Howard lectured at Cornell University (1902) and at the University of Chicago (1903–1904), then returned to the University of Nebraska.
