George Reresby Sacheverell Sitwell

George Reresby Sacheverell Sitwell (born 22 April 1967) is a British businessman. He is the heir to the Sitwell baronetcy as the nephew of Sir Reresby Sitwell, but as of February 2016 has not proved his succession to the title.[1]

Sitwell is the elder son of Susanna Cross and Francis Trajan Sacheverell Sitwell of Weston Hall, Northamptonshire. He is married to Martha Sitwell (née de Blank), daughter of restaurateur Justin de Blank.

He was educated at Eton College and the University of Edinburgh.

Sitwell has worked as an investment banker, head of finance for a film production company, and co-founded an IT staffing group before turning to property development.[2] He developed Joia das Dunas, a luxury beach resort in Portugal which includes a hotel and eco-homes,[3] and is a partner in the company Elements Club, whose focus is resort developments in Brazil.

Due to his father and uncle, Sir Reresby Sitwell, being "never in harmony"[4] Sir Reresby bequeathed the Sitwell family seat, Renishaw Hall, Derbyshire, to his daughter Alexandra, Mrs Rick Hayward. Consequently the famous house and estate are presently separated from the Renishaw baronetcy for the first time in the family's history; George living at the other Sitwell residence, Weston Hall.
