George W. Swain

George W. Swain was a member of the Wisconsin State Senate.

Biography

Swain was born on March 5, 1824, in Sanbornton, New Hampshire.[1] He moved to Bristol, Dane County, Wisconsin in 1853.

Swain married Hannah Chase in 1849.[2] They would have four children.

Career

Swain represented the 4th district of the Senate from 1878 to 1879. Previously, he was Treasurer of Chaseburg, Wisconsin in 1866 and Supervisor of Vernon County, Wisconsin in 1870. He was a Republican.
