George Washington: An Initial Biography is a children's book by Genevieve Foster about the life of the first President of the United States. Though simply written, the biography is comprehensive and scrupulously authentic.[1] The book, illustrated by the author, was first published in 1949 and was a Newbery Honor recipient in 1950.[2]
