Gerard van Deynum

Chalice and fruit, Palace on the water, Warsaw

Gerard, or Gerardt van Deynum (1630s after 1654), was a Flemish Baroque still life painter.

Biography

He was born and worked in Antwerp. He is sometimes confused with a "Gerard van Duynen/Deynum" who worked in the Hague and who was possibly the father of Isaac van Duynen.[1][2] This G. van Deynum is known for still life paintings in the manner of Jan Davidszoon de Heem whose works from the period 16401650 he copied.[1] He is possibly a descendant of the Guilliam van Deynum (15751624) known for portraits in Antwerp.[3] He died after 1654.
