Sir Gerald Edgar Grimstone (born 27 August 1949) is a British businessman, the chairman of Standard Life, and deputy chairman of Barclays.
Early life
Gerald Edgar Grimstone was born on 27 August 1949.[1]
He was educated at Whitgift School, and Merton College, Oxford.[1]
Career
Grimstone worked as a civil servant from 1972-86, then as a director of Schroders from 1986-99.[1]
Grimstone has been chairman of Standard Life since May 2007, deputy chairman of Barclays since January 2016, a non-executive director of Deloitte and the lead non-executive director at the Ministry of Defence.[2][3][4][5]
Honours
Grimstone was knighted in 2014.[1]
