Get on the Bus (song)
"Get on the Bus" is a song by American recording group Destiny's Child featuring musician Timbaland, who is also the writer along with Missy Elliott. It was recorded for the original motion picture soundtrack of the romantic drama Why Do Fools Fall in Love (1998). As with other Timbaland productions that were crafted in the late 1990s, the single features some unorthodox parts, including the sounds of birds. Elements of these nuances were later sampled in Danny!'s 2012 single "Misunderstood", including the harmony from the song's bridge as well as the drum programming.
Released as the second single from the soundtrack album, "Get on the Bus" became a moderate commercial success throughout Europe, reaching the top 20 of the Dutch Mega Single Top 100 and UK Singles Chart. While the single was not commercially released in the United States, it did receive some minor airplay on urban radio, resulting in a number 63 charting on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
An accompanying music video for the track was directed by Earle Sebastian. The song was later featured on the international edition of Destiny's Child's second studio album The Writing's on the Wall and included in the set list of their 2001–2002 world tour.
Music video
The video focuses on Destiny's Child, performing in a silver-white room and inside and around a Lincoln Navigator SUV. The members are dressed in white clothes. Timbaland makes a guest appearance during his rap verses. Fellow R&B singer Aaliyah helped with the choreography in the music video.
