Gheorghe Megelea (born 14 March 1954 in Reşiţa, Caraş-Severin) was a Romanian athlete who mainly competed in the men's javelin throw event during his career.

He competed for Romania at the 1976 Summer Olympics held in Montreal, Canada where he won the bronze medal in the javelin throw competition.

In 1977, he defected to Great Britain, after which he settled down in Canada.
