Ghetto University is the debut studio album by Nigerian recording artist Runtown.[5] Released on November 23, 2015 through Eric Many Entertainment, the album was preceded by four singles which featured vocals from Davido, Wizkid and Uhuru. As the executive producer alongside Okwudili Umenyiora, Runtown collaborated with other music producers like Shizzi, T Spice, Del B, Maleek Berry, Uhuru and Pheelz.[6]

Background

Ghetto University was first hinted by Runtown in 2014 during an interview with Vanguard.[7] On 23 October 2015, the official release date for the album was announced via online media followed by its cover art.[8]

Singles

On 29 January 2014, the album's first single titled "Gallardo" was released and it went on to be voted as the "Best Collaboration of The Year" at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.[9] It was followed by a Clarence Peters-directed music video which went on to peak at number one on MTV Base's Official Naija Top 10 for the "hottest videos aired on the show in 2014".[10] On 9 December 2014, Runtown released the album's second single titled "The Banger" featuring vocals from Uhuru and on 12 June 2015, "Bend Down Pause" which featured Wizkid was released as the album's third single with "Walahi" the fourth single.[11]
