Ghulam Sarwar Khan is a Pakistani politician, Member of parliament MNA since 2013 associated with Pakistan tehreek-e-insaf. He has served as federal minister for labour,manpower and overseas Pakistanis (2002-2007) during Musharraf's rule. He also served as provincial minister for health and was member of provincial parliament three consecutive times. His rivalry chaudhry Nisar got a shameful defeat twice from same constituency. Sarwar khan's brother M.Sadeeq Khan is also member of provincial assembly from pp7 since 2013, he was also tehsil nazim earlier. His youngest brother M.Shafeeq khan has also served as member provincial assembly.Ghulam Sarwar Khan belongs to Khattar family of Gujjars.

Politics

His rivalry with Pakistan Muslim League's leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan dates back to the late 80's,[1] known for defecting to ruling political parties over the years including Pakistan Muslim League, Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Democratic Alliance and running as an independent. He joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in November 2011[2] and contested on its ticket in general election 2013 from the same constituency and defeated Nisar Ali Khan in a close race.[3]

He has formerly served as a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab, Health Minister of Punjab and Member of the Central Zakat Council. His younger brother, Muhammad Sadeeq Khan, was elected Nazim of Tehsil Taxila.now he mpa pp7 his brother shafiq khan was also MPA in previous election[4][5] He is currently facing charges of securing graduation degree on the basis of a fake intermediate certificate and on bail pending the next hearing.[6] Supreme Court (SC) suspended the membership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentarian Ghulam Sarwar Khan.[7]
