Gilberto Ramírez Sánchez (born June 19, 1991 in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico) is an undefeated Mexican professional boxer in the Super Middleweight division and is considered the best boxing prospect from Mexico.[2] Ramírez is the current WBO Super Middleweight Champion[3] and is promoted by Bob Arum's Top Rank Inc.[4]

Professional career

In April 2010, Gilberto beat veteran Jesus Ayala by 2nd-round K.O. in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico.[5]

On December 17, 2010,[6] Ramírez knocked out the undefeated Rogelio Medina to win the vacant WBC Youth World Middleweight Championship. The bout was held at the Gimnasio German Evers in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico.[7][8]
