Gindari (Bahubuthayo 2) (ගින්දරී - බහුබූතයෝ 2) is a 2015 Sinhala comedy mystery film written and directed by Udayakantha Warnasuriya. The film features Paboda Sandeepani, Mahendra Perera and Rodney Warnakula in the leading roles while Sriyantha Mendis, Richerd Manamudali, Lochana Imashi, and Susila Kottage in supporting roles.[2] The film is the sequel in the Bahubuthayo film. Produced by EAP circuit cinemas, the film had music scored by Ananda Bandara. It released in April 2015 and was a very big commercial hit in Sri Lankan Film History in that year, but story-wise it was a failure, while Bahubuthayo 1 was a success.[3] The film was shot in locations of Anuradhapura and around Colombo.

Plot

After few years later of the incidents at Bahubuthayo 1, Lanti (Mahendra Perera) and Banti (Rodney Warnakula) engaged in their usual journalist job. The story begins, when the bell at the temple was broken by lightening and this provide Tikiri (Paboda Sandeepani), who is a evil spirit come back in to Lanti and Bunti's home. After Bunti sees Tikiri and frightened, both Lanti and Banti begins to think how she came back. Meanwhile, their counterpart friend Chaminda (Richard Manamudali) came home and sees the girl. After series of comedis, Chaminda left the home, and meantime, Lanti and Bunti revealed that Tikiri is also capable of releasing fire as well.[4]

With all these incidents, father and mother of Bunty came home and asked Bunty to marry a girl soon. Bunty accepted it and Lanti always think of a way to get rid of from Tikiri. Meanwhile, following a misleading news item relating to a minister which has been published, the minister (Sriyantha Mendis) comes to the house where Bunty and Lanty live and beats them. While, minister sees beautiful Tikiri is taken by force to work in his ministry office. Lanti and Bunty agreed and for pay back what minister caused them, Tikiri was given to minister. After Tikir left the house, due to pressured by the parents, Bunty gets married to a girl named Malkanthi (Lochana Imashi). But they don’t match each other and start quarrelling very often. Malkanthi, who is television addicted young women without the capabilities of kitchen works.

After Tikiri entered new world within ministry, minister always try to win her heart. Minister gave a new modern name to Tikiri as Tikri. But, nothing happen between them and many comedies started at the ministry. One day, minister tried to touch her and make her angry, Tikiri fires at him and flee from the rent house. When all these happening, Bunti always fights with his wife Malkanthi by scolding her that she knows nothing about being a goof wife and only knows to watch the tv whole day, eating expensive foods and etc. Due to this, Malkanthi left the home and Bunty pleased with that decision.

One day, Lanti and Bunti see that Tikiri has come back again and now she has modified with new English words as well. Bunti somewhat gets romanced with Tikiri with all these incidents and said Lanti, that she will live in this house by serving us. Evil spirit is far more better than a usual women in thousands of way. But, Lanti rejects it and he also left the house. Only Bunti and Tikiri is at the house. Finally they married and have a child as well. Every one, except Lanti came to his child's birthday party. At the end, Lanti, who also married and with his pregnant wife walks. Lanti sees that his fried Bunty happily live by marrying Tikiri and his child. Films ends with the citation, See You with Bahubuthayo 3.

Release

The film was released on April 2015 in more than 30 EAP circuit cinemas and ended the theatrical shows on July 2015. The film went on to become a huge commercial success, but a failure in story. The film easily passed commescially successful 50 days as well. [5][6]
