Giulio Carmassi

Giulio Carmassi (born February 21, 1981)[1] is an Italian composer, producer, video artist and multi instrumentalist.

Biography

He is currently a member of the Pat Metheny Unity Group,[2] and has a YouTube channel with nearly one million views.[3] He recorded with the Pat Metheny Unity Group, the album Kin, playing piano, trumpet, trombone, vibes, cello, clarinet, flute, voice and saxophone. The album won the Downbeat Magazine readers poll for best album of the year.[4]

Carmassi scored the movie Somewhere Tonight[5] starring John Turturro,[6] and has arranged and played piano and horns on Emmy Rossum's album, Sentimental Journey for Warner/Reprise.

In 2013, he also recorded trumpet on Chuck Loeb's album, Silhouette,[7] and Keiko Matsui's album, Soul Quest.[8]

Carmassi has also worked as an arranger and multi instrumentalist on Will Lee's album, Love, Gratitude and Other Distractions.[9]
