Jennifer Korbee (née Peterson-Hind; born May 24, 1980) is an American singer and actress.

Biography

Korbee was born in Madison, Wisconsin. Upon receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in musical theatre from the University of Cincinnati – College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), she moved to New York City and was cast in a regional production of the Off-Broadway musical The Marvelous Wonderettes.[1]

In 2002, Korbee was cast in the children's show Hi-5 in the role of "Jenn". The show was filmed in Sydney, Australia. Other cast members include Kimee Balmilero, Karla Cheatham-Mosley, Curtis Cregan, and Shaun Taylor-Corbett. Korbee has been cast as Cathy in the musical adaptation of Wuthering Heights, written by Mark Ryan.[2] She has also appeared in productions of the professional regional theatre company American Folklore Theatre.[3]

Korbee was a participant on the eighth season of American Idol,[4] eliminated at the final judgment following a sing-off with Kristen McNamara. In the group rounds she sang with her husband Tom Korbee, disqualified semifinalist Joanna Pacitti, and the eventual runner-up Adam Lambert

She appeared as the newscaster in the film Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer starring Heather Graham which was released in 2011.[5]

She formed the band Korbee with her husband Tom Korbee in 2011. They have independently released 2 EP's on iTunes, "Better Life" and "Great Escape". They co-produced their debut EP "Better Life" with Jim McGorman and Robb Vallier. They self produced their follow up EP, "Great Escape" using veteran musicians including Tim Pierce, Marc Slutsky, Kenny Aronoff, Aaron Sterling, Curt Schneider, & Stevie Blacke.[6]

Her band, Korbee (formed in 2011 with her husband Tom Korbee), released their debut EP "Better Life"[7] in 2012 and their follow up EP "Great Escape[8]" in 2013. Korbee self produced "Great Escape" and co-produced "Better Life" with Jim McGorman and Robb Vallier. Jenn's debut country solo album, Give a Girl a Reason, was released in 2007 on the label Groundwork Records.

Personal life

In 2006 she married Tom Korbee, whom she met as a student at the University of Cincinnati. She has two younger siblings, Melissa and Justin. The latter is one half of the songwriting/performing duo "Justin and Tomek".
