Gjølme is village in the municipality of Orkdal in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. The village is located along the Orkla River about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) west of the municipal center of Orkanger and about 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) south of Kjøra. The 0.55-square-kilometre (140-acre) village has a population (2009) of 504. The population density is 916 inhabitants per square kilometre (2,370/sq mi).[1]
There is a silicon carbide factory in Gjølme.[3]
